Conducted by the New York Road Runners in association with the City of New York Parks & Recreation, and the
Central Park Conservancy, Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor, and Adrian Benepe, Commissioner.

Guidelines for setting up in Central Park

  • Banner regulations: Banner dimensions are limited to 8' x 3'. Please be careful not to break branches. No stakes, tape, nails, or tacks are allowed. When you leave, remove any and all materials used to hang banners. Sign dimensions are limited to 6' x 2'. If you place signs on poles or fences, please take them with you.
  • No tents of any size are allowed in the park.
  • Do NOT cook food or use ANY source of open flame, such as Sterno, in Central Park.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Central Park. A Summons will be issued to all violators and alcohol will be confiscated.
  • Please pick up any litter your runners create and deposit it in the appropriate garbage bins.
  • In case of lightning, you will be instructed to temporarily leave the park. In the event of a severe storm necessitating delays of more than 30 minutes, the event may be cancelled.
  • No balloon displays are allowed in the park.

Guidelines for catering in Central Park
If your company is catering a race party in Central Park for your runners, please adhere to the following guidelines and procedures:

  • The Company Captain is responsible for any catering activity on behalf of their company in Central Park.
  • Catering vehicles may not leave the Park Drives. Park Enforcement Officers will issue a Summons to violators. Caterers may enter the Park at E. 60th Street and Fifth Avenue. For food and equipment drop-offs, enter between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. After 4:00 PM, no one will be allowed to enter (strictly enforced). For pick-ups, enter after 10:00 PM.
  • Your caterer must be prepared to carry food and equipment to each company’s designated area using hand trucks, etc.
  • Please use the appropriate garbage bins found throughout the Park.
  • Each Company Captain is responsible for the clean up of their designated team area after the event.
